Technical Notes
The email server is fully RFC-2142 compliant. Please do not abuse this.
-
To reduce email web scraping spam, RFC-2142 addresses will NOT be explicitly
listed on most pages. Instead, they should be inferred from the RFC and the domain
name. When mentioned, verbage such as "postmaster's RFC-2142 address" will be
used.
-
If you spot any server misconfigurations, or have any suggestions or complaints,
please do not hesitate to reach out to the appropriate RFC-2142 address.
The email server has the following features/standards enabled to improve deliverability
[D], authenticity [A], and security [S]:
- CAA [AS]
- DANE (therefore DNSSEC) [A]
- DKIM [AD]
- DMARC [AD]
- FCrDNS (Forward-Confirmed reverse DNS) [AD]
- MTA-STS [S]
- SPF [AD]
- TLSRPT [S]
The email server will validate inbound email messages for DKIM validity, DMARC
alignment, and SPF validity if the records are present in a sender's DNS zone. Soft
failing SPF and/or a misaligned DMARC with a DMARC policy of quarantine will result in
an inbound email message being routed to a user's 'Spam' mailbox.
